The scarf first rose to fame when Jackie O. wore it first in the 1960s. Philanthropist and media mogul Oprah Winfrey, as well as International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde are also both fans of the scarf. A 2007 issue of Vanity Fair reveled that the scarf was one of the top 10 most desirable, best selling Hermes scarves of all time.
